Today, Blackshear 4-H experimented with lighting and color settings as they took photos behind the school.  Clearly, the trick shots lesson from a couple weeks back was still having an impact, as there were a few trick shots in the mix too.  Here are a few standout photos:

This was a more "normal" day with Blackshear 4-H Photography.  We had a lesson, not about ghosts this time, then went out in the park to take photos.  However, it was obvious that last week's lesson had a lasting impact on some of the students, as there were still a few trick photos to be found amongst the others:

It was an overcast, grey day in Austin, TX, and that made it the perfect day to conduct my "ghost photos" lesson with Blackshear 4-H Photography, in which I showed a variety of spooky photos to the class and discussed how the photos may have been achieved using trick photography.  I also incorporated elements from the Focus on Photography curriculum dealing with trick shots.  After completing the lesson, we went outside so Blackshear 4-H Photography could practice using these techniques with their classmates. During our last meeting of 2015, Blackshear 4-H Photography made a return trip to the Texas State Cemetery.  During this visit, we were lucky to witness the fall colors, which come a bit later in Texas.  As a result, there were lots of pictures showing off the brights reds and yellows of the leaves.  There were plenty of great photos, and here is a a sampling of the highlights:
