This was the third day of the kids at Galindo working with the goats as we couldn't go outside last week due to the weather.  Again, we had the leaders of the group wrangle the goats and clip them to the fence, where they petted the goats and also did "leg exercises" with them.  Here are the photos the kids took:

I will be posting photos of our work with the goat project at Galindo Elementary.  We began working with the goats this week and Ms. Brianna with the 4-H CAPITAL program came out today to help the kids work with the goats.  Basically, what they do is wrangle the goats out of the catch pen and attach them to the fence where the kids pet the goats and get the goats accustomed to being in contact with humans.  In short, they are domesticating them.  I also brought along a camera to let the kids document their work in the goat project.  Here are the highlights of the photos the kids took:

Today I attended the Urban Summit in San Antonio to learn more about different programs that AgriLife Extension agents are conducting in urban counties throughout Texas.  We went to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens to learn about the gardening programs they are conducting in Bexar County and I took the opportunity to go into "tourist mode" and take a lot of pictures of the beautiful gardens.  Here are some highlights, all taken using a Canon Power Shot G12 camera:

For our 4-H One Day event, Bethany 4-H participated in a plant giveaway activity at Oak Springs Villas apartments.  We gave out flowers to all residents who wanted one and the kids introduced themselves and promoted Bethany 4-H to the residents.  We also signed up 3 new members to the 4-H Club and took photos to commemorate the event.

 Here they are:

And, finally, a bonus video featuring a very nice resident thanking the Club for the plant:
