July 13, 2015

Today was the start of the conference celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the second Morrill Act.  This act helped to establish many of the historically black colleges and universities, although Prairie View A&M was actually established slightly before the second Morrill Act.  The conference involved 19 HBCU's including Prairie View A&M and took place in Washington DC.  I took advantage of the opportunity to visit DC and photograph many of the sites with the intent of using these photos in my photography programs.  I will be highlighting photos from each day of the conference, which took place last week, from July 13th through the 17th.

Cool old firehouse across the street from the hotel.
