Today Bethany 4-H completed the 4-H STEM challenge kit for Explorers of the Deep. The kids had a lot of fun and we learned a lot. For their assignment to create a public service announcement, they picked the problem of oil spills. Adapting the 4-H motto as a template, here is what they came up with:
Head – Oil spilling into the ocean is killing animals and
affecting the environment
Heart – We should care because it can affect our future
generations
Hands – We can stop oil spills by using more solar energy.
Health – Animals getting killed, environment getting
damaged, people are affected. Solar
energy will help this by less coral reefs dying, fish going extinct, and also a
better energy resource too.
They would target this PSA on the internet and try to get it to the UN. Here is a photo of their glider in the water:
